I embarked on the journey of training as a mental health professional with a clear focus– to help individuals who are experiencing emotional distress. Through an integrative style of working, I aspire to help individuals alleviate their emotional distress, build resilience and navigate their lives more fulfillingly.
Obtaining my BSc in Psychology (Honours) from University College London, UK followed by a Doctorate (DPsych) in Counselling Psychology from Regent’s University London, UK, I am a qualified and licensed psychologist. I am registered with The Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC), UK and I am a member of the British Psychological Society, (BPS), UK.
To date, I have worked in a range of settings including the National Health Service (NHS), hospitals, NGO services, secondary schools and high schools, university counselling services and private clinics. I have experience of working across the age range, with the majority of my work focused on the youth and young adult population.
My experience of living in Belgium, UK and India has fuelled my interest in research on migration. With a focus on individuals moving across cultures in an era when online social networking is prevalent, I hold a special interest in the areas of acculturation, transition and the psychological impact of social media.
